To any out there concerned, I received an email back from the Illinois Secretary of State office dated 10/26/01 which reads:
"Public Act 92-0274, effective January 1, 2002, provides that the Secretary of State may issue a special restricted license for a period of 12 months to an individual using vision aid arrangements, other than standard eyeglasses or contact lenses, allowing the operation of a motor vehicle during nighttime hours. Qualifications will still be necessary in order to obtain the night driving privileges, one of which will require the applicant to pass a nighttime drive. The Secretary of State's Office is presently in the process of establishing procedures and policies for implementation of this leglislation.
If you have additional questions regarding this matter, please contact Mr John Cox of the Medical Unit at 217-785-1085."
I have yet to contact Mr. Cox. Goodspeed to all, Tom
