Hi Kris,

I currently wear a pair of BiOptic lenses although I am supposed to only wear a monoptic lense in MA.

When I had to renew my license in April of 2000 I found that they had changed most of the vision regulations. I ended up having to get an eye exam from my optometrist, and I had to take a night time driving test in order to get rid of the daytime only restriction.

If you go to the Mass RMV site (http://www.state.ma.us/rmv/) and follow the link to Medical Affairs on the left you will see a link for the "Visual Screening Certificate" which is the form that your eye doctor has to fill out when they test your eyes. The form does a decent job of explaining the vision standards that the state requires now. There is a note on the very bottom of the second page that summarizes the requirements for those of us that use biptics lenses.

Mark
