: Hello all,
: I've benn visiting here for sometimes and really thinking about abtaining my drivers liscences. My visual acuity is 20/200 and my eyes move back and foward. The question is this, When you drive through a neighborhood wheere a car is parked on the side of the street how can you dodge the cars? I know thes is a crazy question but I am looking for tricks for this task. Advice will be appreciated.
I'm not sure there is an easy answer. I know that
I had difficulty steering my car in a straight
line for quite awhile. This was not because I
could not see where I was going. I think it was
caused by the eye movement. I also had a tendencey to drive directly towards anything I was looking at.
This went away in a month or so. I think the
only way to get thruogh it is to practice. I
suggest taking driving lessons and driving in
very safe places such as empty parking lots until this is no longer a problem.
Of course, I would not recommend driving with a best corrected vision of 20/200 in a standard ( aka carrier ) lense. I have 20/70 with correction and don't think I have much margin for error.
