Hi Lela.
I’m surprised that you were told that people find it difficult to use BiOptics. Everybody’s different and BiOptics certainly don't work for everyone, but I find mine to be wonderful! Because the small telescope is mounted in a pair of glasses, you simply dip your head when you need to see something bigger. (There’s no fumbling with finding a telescope in your pocket, then finding the object in your telescope, etc.)
Within one week of using my BiOptic, I finally felt like I had an idea what it would be like to have normal vision. After several years of using my BiOptic, it has become almost instinctive. In fact, when I ride as a passenger in a car (and am not wearing my BiOptic as I would do if I were driving), I find myself dipping my head and wondering for a second why the image didn’t get larger! (as if the BiOptic was supposed to be part of my body.)
You do have to special order BiOptics made just for you (because they have to position the BiOptic telescope in just the right place and at just the right angle for your eye in the glasses’ carrier lens, plus they have to add any correction you’d normally have in your glasses.), but if it works for you, it’s well worth it!
There is another solution called a Telcon system, where you basically turn one eye into a telescope by using a concave contact lens and a convex lens in your glasses. I’ve heard, however, that this system can only enlarge an image by 2x, totally limits your field of vision, and makes you move your head (instead of your eye) to change what you’re looking at.

: Hello, everybody.
: I asked in Italy for Bioptics; the distributor answered me that this kind of product has bee refused from the market, because consumers have problems in using it. So trying it is quite difficult; you have to order it and maybe buy it. What other solution but BiOptics are useful for a person who is completely blind on his right eye but 4-5/10 (with correction) on his left eye? The requirements to drive in italy are 8/10.
: Thanks you all.
: Lela
