We are contemmplating a move to a suburb of New York City. I have occular albinism and have driven with BiOptic lenses for three years. I am anxious about reestablishing myself in a new community because of the insensative and sometimes negative reactions to driving with BiOptic lenses. I am a mother of two young children and am hestitant to involve myself in carpooling and other routine driving tasks that would involve me transporting other children. I value my privacy but nonetheless want to be straightforward about my visual limitations when meeting new people and trying to establish new friendships. I am wary because I have had people, even extended family members, make generalized, negative comments about "blind drivers". How do you folks handle this type of thing?

Sincerely:
Ellen
