An example BiOptic used for driving:

behind-the-lens telescopic system, created by Dr. Larry SpitzbergThe BiOptic would normally be mounted in the upper portion of the carrier lens (as shown below), for the wearer to glace into and out of intermittently.

Opposite is a rare example of a behind-the-lens telescopic system - the telescope is placed in the central inferior position. The user glances downward and views an image of the environment that is straight ahead rather than in the direction of the glance.

The BiOptic may be mounted in either carrier lens, but never both - if used for driving.  It has been proven in many peer reviewed journals monocular mounting does NOT diminish ones total field of view.
